Call for Papers

The workshop seeks paper submission in four main areas:

  • IPDs (Intermittently Powered Devices)
  • IPDs at the limits of minimum power consumption - HLPDs (Hilariously Low Power Devices)
  • IPDs that are embedded - DEIs (Deeply Embedded IPDs)
  • IPDs and communication - HLPComms (Hilariously Low-Power Communication)
  • These areas are mapped into topic for consideration that include:

  • Software-defined wirelessly-programmable IPDs
  • Programming techniques for IPDs
  • Backscatter and other ultra-low power communication primitives
  • System support for reliability and robustness to intermittence
  • Computer architecture for IPDs
  • Operating systems for IPDs
  • Applications of emerging, non-volatile memory and compute devices in IPDs
  • Novel energy harvesting and transfer techniques
  • Tradeoffs between power transfer and communication and coding for both
  • Error-correction and control (both for storage and communication)
  • Theoretical limits of computation and communication in IPDs
  • Studies and experience reports on emerging IPD applications
  • Testbeds, platform engineering reports, and experimental datasets

  • Paper Submission Guidelines

  • Papers must be formatted using the ACM SIGPLAN style guidelines
  • Papers can be at most 6 pages in length including figures, tables, and references
  • Double-blind principle applies. Please follow extra submission instructions at ASPLOS 2016 submission site.
  • In doubt: please contact HLPC 2016 Organizing Committee.
